This vessel is a colorful statement piece. Speckled brown clay was used for the entire construction, approximately 18" tall. After the base was sculpted (like a pinch pot!), then coils were added, working up from the base. My favorite part of the process? Carving! The design is based on concentric circles, following the portals and contours of the vessel.
