This double candle holder would be a perfect wedding or anniversary gift. Two wheel thrown pots (basically tumblers) were joined to make a single form. Then circular windows and other alterations were created with an X-acto knife.
Smooth dark brown clay was used to make this candle holder. It is fascinating that a different kiln (gas kiln and reduction atmosphere) affected the clay so uniquely. The unglazed surface of the final piece has a silvery sheen!
Minimal blue glaze was used, and it compliments the clay quite well. Approximately 3.75" tall, 6" long, 3.75" wide; 0.7 lbs.
Pottery appearance (i.e. color) may be slightly different than online images due to my amateur photography skills and variation in your screen settings. I do my best to upload photos which accurately represent each piece.
